When certain films are released, mostly those of kid-centric variety, critics tend to forget that they’re not necessarily the film’s target audience. So, we here at CinemaNerdz decided we needed the critical viewpoint of a true member of the movie’s intended demographic. Thus, we turn the reins over to Miranda Clarke, age 9, as she shares with us her views on the new film “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.”

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked was a really exciting and fun movie. I loved every part of it. I really can’t tell you my favorite part because the whole movie was great. In this Chipmunk movie Alvin, Simon, Theodore and the Chipettes get to go on a cruise for a vacation with Dave (Jason Lee) who tries to watch over them. As usual, Alvin starts causing lots of trouble and ends up stranded on an island with the rest of the Chipmunks and the Chipettes. This is where the movie gets more interesting and even funnier. Will the Chipmunks and the Chipettes ever be found or will they stay on the island forever?

One particularly funny part of the movie is when Simon gets bit by a spider and turns into a French dude name Simone. Simon acts pretty weird because of the spider bite. The Chipmunks bump into a crazy girl named Zoe on the island. Every time we see her in the movie she is acting all crazy and cuckoo. She is a really good actor because it must be hard to play a character that is as crazy as Zoe. She did a really good job. They also brought back my favorite character from the first two movies, Ian. He was the mean producer of the Chipmunks in the first movie. Now Ian works on the ship as a mascot and bumps into Dave. I think it was kinda cool.

The music was great. The Chipmunks never lost their sound. They find many times to sing about what they are going through. The music spiced up the movie a bit and made it more fun. It also made you feel the Chipmunk’s emotions more. The dancing was totally awesome as well. The dancing went well with the movie and they got me into it. I wanted to dance in my seat. Actually I did dance in my seat!

In the end Dave learns that even though Alvin always fools around, he still loves him. Alvin also learns an important lesson. He learns not to goof around so much. While watching Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, I was reminded that no matter who you are, we all have differences and if someone does something you don’t like it was probably an accident. You should forgive them. The ending was great because it ended with happiness and excitement.
