This movie was spectacular. Dolphin Tale 2 is about Sawyer (Nathan Gamble) and a dolphin named Winter, who became best friends in the first movie Dolphin Tale (2011). In DolphinTale 2, Winter isn’t the only dolphin anymore. We get to meet three new dolphins named Pamela, Hope, and Mandy. Oh and don’t forget Rufus, the craziest pelican in the world.

Dolphin Tale 2The movie starts off with Sawyer’s friend Hazel (Cozi Zuehlsdorff) working with Winter and Pamela at the Clearwater Marine Hospital. Sawyer is helping with the show and is in the water with Winter. And the coolest guest star ever, Bethany Hamilton (as herself), swims with Winter! Hamilton is the real-life surfer girl who lost an arm in a shark attack and inspired the movie Soul Surfer. Anyway, Winter tragically loses her dolphin friend, Pamela. But that’s not the only thing happening – Sawyer has to make a decision that will affect his life and Winter’s and the Clearwater Marine Hospital rescues Hope and Mandy.

Winter is depressed because she no longer has Pamela, her surrogate mother. Dolphins can’t live alone and the Clearwater Marine Hospital needs to find her a friend so she can remain there. The Clearwater Marine Hospital lives by three words: rescue, rehab, release. This is hard for Hazel because she wants things to work out, but sometimes it is more important to do what is right. The animal hospital tries to see if Mandy or Hope can be friends with Winter so that Winter can stay. Watch the movie to see if they get along.

I really like a few things about this movie. First, you don’t have to watch the first movie to understand the second one. Although you might enjoy this movie more if you watch Dolphin Tale first. Dolphin Tale 2 is about real people and dolphins. This movie is helping the Clearwater Marine Hospital to be heard of so they can have more money to rescue and save marine animals. You may want to stick around for the credits. They show a video with the real characters rescuing the actual animals.

Here are some of my favorite characters. Hope who is cute and is so small, she also is weird because she likes things like water being squirted in her mouth. Hazel is nice and wants to be part of the team. She also helps keep crazy Rufus under control. Oh and she is always filming. Lastly is Rufus, because he is crazy and weird but wants to make sure animals are okay, but he shows it in offbeat ways; like when he is freaking out and watching as they check to see if a turtle is in pain.

There are a lot of life lessons in this movie. Like you need to keep trying and eventually you will succeed. Another one is to always have hope because if you have hope you can do anything. And lastly is that doing what’s right isn’t always easy. I feel that the messages of Dolphin Tale 2 are very inspiring.

Dolphin Tale 2 is a roller coaster of emotions; like happy, sad, angry, and even scary. The good thing is it has a happy ending. I recommend you see this movie because it’s based on an amazing true story. Although it seemed that some parts happened because they wanted the movie to have a happy ending.
