Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Are Back In Sisters

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite for Sisters, a new film from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore about two disconnected sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house. Looking to recapture their glory days, they throw one final high-school-style party for their classmates, which turns into the cathartic rager that a bunch of ground-down Sistersadults really need. The film also stars Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, John Leguizamo, Dianne Wiest, John Cena, and James Brolin.

Fey produces the comedy alongside Jay Roach (Meet the Parents series) and John S. Lyons (Austin Powers in Goldmember), and Poehler executive produces alongside Jeff Richmond and Brian Bell from a script by Paula Pell (TV’s Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock).

As much as I love both Fey and Poehler, this trailer leaves me a little disappointed. I suppose I might be guilty of holding them to a higher standard that the trashy comedy previewed here doesn’t reach. That being said, trailers are notorious for misrepresenting the final product, so maybe there will be more to this film come December. Well, at least that;s what I’m hoping.

SISTERS will be released in theaters everywhere on December 18, 2015!
