A Kid Critic Reviews Now You See Me 2

Now You See Me 2

Now You See Me 2 is a great movie. It is about the Horsemen and how they are forced to steal something. There are many familiar faces from the first Now You See Me (2013), but also some new ones that you really grow to love or hate, depending on the character. This movie has amazing tricks, some which have never been seen before and others that have been performed for centuries. Even though the movie starts off sad it has a happy ending that wraps everything up nicely.

This movie, like the last one, will keep you guessing till the end with so many exciting twist and turns. Pay attention to the little things throughout the movie because there are some things that seem pointless or irrelevant that will end up to be very crucial to later events. Now You See Me 2 includes many magical techniques, like sleight of hand and misdirection.

One of the many things I liked about this movie is that it expands on some topics from the first movie. It talks about J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg) being a control freak. It also explains some of the relationship between Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) and his dad and the effect it had on Dylan. Overall it was an amazing movie.

There are a lot of wonderful characters, but sadly one Horsemen is not there. Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), which was a great character from the first movie, Now You See Me, is not in this film. However, Henley is mentioned throughout the movie. In the first part of Now You See Me 2 it is explained that she asked The Eye for an out and they gave it to her. There is a new female Horsemen named Lula (Lizzy Caplan), but she can never replace Henley. Overall this movie is well cast and the characters draw you into the movie.

One of my favorite things from Now You See Me 2 is the fast-paced and incredible sleight of hand moves performed by many of the characters. It was entertaining to watch. I also liked that there are a lot of cool action scenes during the movie. These were thrilling, but there is one thing I would change. The action scenes sometimes were hard to follow and to see what was going on. These scenes are still very intense, however, I feel they could have been shot better. Don’t get me wrong I loved the movie and I can’t wait to watch it again.
