Epic is a really great animated movie. The movie is about a dad and his daughter. Mary Katherine (voiced by Amanda Seyfried) had to move in with her dad, who she does not really know. The dad is obsessed with trying to find these little creatures that live in the woods. He is more interested in finding little creatures than getting to know Mary Katherine. Then all these crazy things happen. Before you know it they are closer to the creatures than they want to be and also closer together. Mary Katherine goes into forest looking for her dog where she sees little people living in the woods, she shrinks down to the size of the little people, as if by magic. Throughout the rest of the movie she tries to get big again and meets some cool people and makes new friends. The little people are in danger of losing their home to an evil villain that wants to rot the forest. The end is very interesting and is also very surprising. But to find out all that happens you’ll have to see Epic.
Epic had some great characters. One of my favorite characters is Mary Katherine. She is a fun girl that wants to have an adventure, but adventure gets her into trouble. She is the main charter in the movie and the story is about her trying to get big and help her new friends out. I really like Mary Katherine because she is brave and determined. Queen Tara (voiced by Beyonce Knowles) is another one of my favorite characters. She has some hard times in the movie but she always wants to make sure that everyone is okay. Mub and Grub (voiced by Aziz Ansari and Chris O’Dowd) are guys that are funny and make the movie much better. They are always there with a joke and they make the movie very funny. Mub and Grub never take things too seriously. Ozzie, Mary Katherine’s dog is fun and makes the movie way more interesting. He is a pug with only three legs. He is cute and cuddly. One of my favorite parts of Epic is when Ozzie chases Mary Katherine and the other little people. He is trying to lick Mary Katherine and he doesn’t understand that he could eat her instead.

I think that during some parts of Epic, the action was too slow and in others it was too fast. Overall, I liked the movie because it kept me interested and I liked the story. Also, it really had a lot of surprises. I was not sure how it was going to end up. It is a cool adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Epic had magic, determination, and a great story all in one movie.
