A new film claimed the top of the box-office weekend as Argylle debuted $12.0 million ahead of the closest competition.
Falling four spots to land in sixth this weekend was Mean Girls with $4.0 million. This gives the Paramount Pictures product a four-week total of $66.4 million. Dropping only two spots this weekend to finish in seventh place was Anyone But You with $3.5 million. This gives the Columbia Pictures release a seven-week tally of $76.3 million. Losing one spot since last weekend and landing in eighth-place was Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s American Fiction with $2.3 million. This brings the film’s eight-week total to $15.0 million. Falling three places to finish in ninth was Searchlight Pictures’ Poor Things with $2.1 million. The film now sports a nine-week total of $28.2 million. Finally, dropping two spots to claim tenth place this weekend, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom added $2.0 million to bring the Warner Bros. product’s seven-week tally to $120.8 million.
Two films saw their time amongst the other films in the top ten come to an end this weekend as both Godzilla Minus One and The Boys in the Boat both all dropped from the weekend box office. After nine weeks, Godzilla Minus One leaves $56.4 million richer. Meanwhile, The Boys in the Boat enjoyed an overall six-week total of $49.6 million.
