Two new films stood atop of the box-office weekend over the last three days as Barbarian debuted with a $10.0 million weekend to best the second-place film, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva by $5.6 million.
Meanwhile, The Invitation dropped a spot to finish in sixth-place this weekend with $2.6 million. The film now has a three-week total of $18.8 million. Seventh place went to newcomer Lifemark which amassed $2.2 million in its first weekend of release. Dropping two spots to land in eighth place over the weekend was Beast which took in $1.8 million in its fourth weekend of release to lift its overall total to $29.4 million. Falling two spots to land in ninth-place was the animated Minion: The Rise of Gru with $1.7 million. This gives the animated sequel an eleven-week tally of $362.3 million. Finally, last weekend’s top film, the re-release of Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped to the tenth spot with $1.3 million in its second week of re-release, sporting a grand total of $8.6 million.
For the first time in what seems like an eternity, more that two films were dispatched from the top ten this weekend. The eighth-, ninth-, and tenth-place films from last weekend all departed this weekend’s list. The Marvel hit, Thor: Love and Thunder leaves with a ten-week tally of $342.3 million. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (Doragon boru supa supa hiro) takes a three-week total of $34.9 million as it bids adieu to the top ten. Finally, the re-release of Jaws swims away from the box-office weekend with a two-week netting of $2.7 million.
