For the second consecutive week, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie stood tall and claimed the box-office weekend by a margin of $47 million.
The second debut of the weekend, Talk to Me, brought in $10 million which landed it in sixth place. Last weekend’s fifth-place finisher, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, fell to seventh-place where it added $4 million over the weekend, giving it a five-week total of $167 million. Dropping a spot to eight-place was Elemental with $3.4 million. This gives the Disney/Pixar film a seven-week total of $145 million. Falling three spots to land in ninth-place with $3.2 million earned this weekend was Insidious: The Red Door, bringing the film’s four-week total to $78 million. Finally, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse dropped two spots to finish in tenth place with $1.4 million. This gives the film a nine-week total of $379 million.
Two films were again forced out of the top ten this week as both ninth- and tenth-place films from last week failed to make the top ten this weekend. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts departs with an eight-week total of $156.6 million. Meanwhile, No Hard Feelings leaves after amassing $50.2 million over the last six weeks.
