Continuing to stand tall above all newcomers, Black Panther dominated yet again this past weekend at the box office. The Marvel powerhouse brought in another $66.3 million in its third weekend, bringing its total to a staggering $501.7 million.
The comedy mystery film Game Night did decent business in its second week with $10.4 million, though it did fall quite a bit after earning around $23 million during its first weekend. Peter Rabbit fell to fourth place with a $10 million weekend, to raise its four-week total to $84.1 million. And Annihilation continued its drop down the weekly countdown to sixth place this weekend with $5.6 million, giving it a two-week total of $20.6 million. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle finished in the seventh spot adding $4.4 million to raise its eleven-week total to $393.1 million.
Elsewhere, Fifty Shades Freed continues to slide down the rungs of the top ten. This week it’s from third to eighth, and will more than likely see its time in the top ten come to an end this coming weekend after bringing in just $95.7 million over its four-week run.
The Hugh Jackman vehicle The Greatest Showman looks primed to finally bow out of the top ten in the next week or so. The film took in $2.7 million over the weekend, to lift it’s eleven-week haul to $164.6 million. Finally, the drama/fantasy/romance Every Day managed to eke out $1.5 million and crack the top ten list this week, though it’s stay will more than likely be quite a short-lived one.
Next weekend, several new releases look to challenge for the top box office spot, including: A Wrinkle in Time from Disney and Gringo from STX.
