Box-Office Weekend: Bond Claims Crown

The latest James Bond adventure, No Time To Die debuted atop the box-office weekend, knocking Venom: Let There Be Carnage from the position it held for just one week.

The film added $4.2 million over the weekend to give it a total now of $212.5 million. Meanwhile, the “Sopranos” prequel, The Many Saints of Newark, dropped one spot in its second week, finishing in fifth with $1.5 million. This gives the film a total to date of$7.4 million.

Holding steady in sixth place was the Ryan Reynolds starring Free Guy, which added $1.3 million to give the film a nine-week tally of $119.7 million. The second debut this week, the horror/mystery, Lamb took in $1.0 in its first week of release, finishing in the seventh spot of this week’s top ten. Falling from the fifth spot to eight in its third week of release, was Dear Evan Hansen which added $1.0 million to give the film a total of $13.7 million.

Dropping to the ninth spot this weekend was the horror film Candyman. The film added $700,000 over the weekend, giving it a seven-week total of just over $60 million. Finally, the live Fathom performance Met Opera: Boris Godunov finished in the tenth spot of the weekend box-office with $387,000.
