While Twisters claimed the top spot of the weekend box-office seven days ago, it was handily displaced this weekend by newcomer Deadpool & Wolverine by the not-so-tiny sum of $169.7 million.
In its fifth weekend of release, A Quiet Place: Day One fell a spot to sixth place this weekend where it brought in $3.0 million, giving the Paramount Pictures product an overall total of $134.2 million to date. Holding its ground and remaining in seventh place this weekend, the Sony Pictures Releasing offering Bad Boys: Ride or Die took in $1.3 million to lift its eight-week total to $191.7 million for the studio. Bleecker Street Media’s The Fabulous Four made its debut in the eighth spot where it made $1.0 million over its first weekend in release. After claiming sixth place last weekend, Fly Me to the Moon fell three spots to claim ninth place for Columbia Pictures with $750,000. This gives the film a three-week total of $19.1 million. Finally, Prime Media Pictures enjoyed the debut of Rayan in the tenth spot of this weekend’s countdown where it brought in $453,000 for the studio.
Yet again, three films were forced from the top ten of the weekend box office as last weekend’s eighth-, ninth-, and tenth-place films were all pushed from this week’s list. After debuting in the eight spot last weekend, Bad Newz leaves the top ten with a one-week total of $1.1 million. Meanwhile, after four weeks in release, last weekend’s ninth-place film, MaXXXine departs the top ten leaving A24 $14.7 million richer. Finally, after crawling back into the top ten last weekend, Focus Features’ The Bikeriders couldn’t repeat the feat this weekend, instead settling for a six-week total of $21.7 million.
