For the second consecutive week, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire held the top spot of the box-office weekend, handily besting the second-place film by $21.6 million.
Dropping three spots to finish in sixth place over the weekend was Dune: Part Two, which earned $7.2 million over its sixth weekend in release. This brings the Warner Bros. product’s overall total to $264.9 million. The third debut of the weekend, the Fathom Events offering of Someone Like You finished in seventh place with $3.0 million. At the same time, Sony Pictures Releasing saw its Wicked Little Letters crack the top ten in its second week of release and first in wide release with $1.6 million over the weekend, bringing its total to $1.7 million. Falling three places to a ninth-place finish with $1.5 million this weekend was Arthur the King from Lionsgate Films. This brings the film’s four-week tally to $22.2 million. Finally, after claiming fifth place last weekend, Immaculate plummeted to tenth place this weekend, earning $1.4 million; raising the film’s three-week total to $14.1 million.
Four films from last weekend’s top ten were forced from this weekend list. The films that finished in seventh- thru tenth-place last week, all failed to make the list again this weekend. After three weeks, and bringing in $8.5 million for IFC Films, Late Night with the Devil couldn’t crack the top ten after claiming seventh place last weekend. Both Tillu Square and Crew bowed out of the top ten after appearing in eighth- and ninth-place for only one week; the former earning $1.9 million and the latter $1.5 million. Finally, after five weeks, the Lionsgate Films offering, Imaginary leaves the top ten with $27.4 million.
