Although it didn’t enjoy the margin of victory it did last weekend, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes still held onto the number one spot of the box-office weekend to the tune of $8.4 million.
Falling three spots to land in sixth place this weekend was The Marvels which added $6.4 million to raise its three-week total to $76.9 million for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Dropping only one spot to a seventh-place finish was The Holdovers with $2.8 million. This gives the Focus Features film a five-week total of $12.9 million. Holding its ground in the eighth spot of the top ten was Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour which added $2.3 million over the weekend to bring its seven-week total to $178.3 million. Falling four spots to finish in ninth this weekend was Five Nights at Freddy’s from Universal Pictures International with $1.8 million. This gives the film a five-week total of $136.2 million. Finally, debuting on the top ten in tenth place was Saltburn with $1.7 million. The film has now brought in $3.1 million for Warner Bros. over the last two weeks.
Three films were forced out of the top ten this weekend as last weekend’s seventh-, ninth-, and tenth-place films all saw their time on the list end. After two weeks in release and one in the top ten, Next Goal Wins departs after bringing in $5.7 million for Searchlight Pictures. Five weeks after being released, Priscilla exists the top ten leaving A24 $19.6 million richer. Finally, Paramount Pictures enjoyed a $65.6 million return on the six weeks that Killers of the Flower Moon was in release.
