Yet again, another new film has taken over the top spot of the box-office weekend as Kung Fu Panda 4 managed to stake a claim on first place by a margin of $12.3 million over last week’s top film.
Falling three spots as well was Ordinary Angels which added $2.0 million over the weekend despite dropping to sixth place. Still, it sports a three-week total of $16.1 million so all is not lost. Meanwhile, Columbia Pictures saw fourth-place Madame Web drop three spots to claim seventh place with $1.12 million over the weekend. This gives the film a four-week total of $42.6 million. While that number is disappointing, the $1.12 million was just enough to edge out Migration which finished the weekend with $1.10 million, giving the Universal Pictures product a twelve-week total of $125.3 million despite its drop two spots to eighth place. Sony Pictures Releasing enjoyed a debut in ninth place over the weekend as Yolo claimed a spot in the top ten with $840,000. Finally, after bringing in $217.8 million for Warner Bros. over the last thirteen weeks, Wonka fell two spots to tenth place this weekend where it added $600,000.
After finishing in fifth place last weekend, The Chosen: Season 4, Episodes 7-8 was pushed from the top ten this weekend. Likewise, the Sony Pictures Releasing product, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To the Hashira Training, failed to land in the top ten again after claiming seventh place last weekend, giving the film a three-week tally of $17.0 million. Last weekend’s ninth- and tenth-place films were both pushed out of the top ten as Argylle leaves after making $44.8 million for Universal Pictures International over the last six weeks and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer garnered $65.3 million from The Beekeeper over the previous eight weeks.
