Yet again, a new film stands atop the box-office weekend as The Super Mario Bros. Movie took control of first place by a margin of $131.8 million.

Debuting with an overall total of $204.6 million and a weekend total of $146.4 million, The Super Mario Bros. Movie eclipsed all competitors for dominion over the weekend box-office. In a very distant second-place was John Wick: Chapter 4 holding its ground with $14.6 million over the weekend. This boosted the film’s three-week total to $147.1 million. Falling from first to third place was Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves which garnered $14.5 million in its second week of release, bring its overall total to $62.3 million. Air debuted in fourth place with $14.5 million over the weekend. This pushed last weekend’s fourth-place film, Scream VI to fifth place where it added $3.3 million over the weekend to raise its five-week total to $103.8 million.

Dropping from third-place to sixth over the weekend was His Only Son which brought in $3.3 million over Easter weekend to give it a two-week total of $11.0 million. Falling two spots to finish in seventh place this weekend was Creed III with $2.8 million. This gives the sequel a six-week overall total of $153.3 million. Also dropping two spots, to land in eight place, was Shazam! Fury of the Gods with $1.6 million over the last three days. This brings the film’s four-week total to $56.6 million. Debuting in the ninth spot was Paint which brought in $750,000. Finally, last weekend’s seventh-place film, A Thousand and One fell to tenth place with $600,000 over the weekend, bringing its two-week total to $3.0 million.

Again, three films were ousted from the top ten this weekend. After five weeks, 65 drops from the list with an overall total of $31.5 million. Meanwhile, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania departs with an eight-week total of $212.6 million. Finally, Jesus Revolution falls from the list with a seven-week total of $51.7 million.
