For the second week in a row, The Batman eclipsed the box-office weekend by a vast amount. While there wasn’t a $117.5 million difference between the two top films this weekend, The Batman did hold onto first place by a margin of $56.7 million.
Finishing in sixth place over the weekend was the 20th Century Fox film Death on the Nile with took in $2.5 million to boost its five-week total to $40.8 million. The Indian film Radhe Shyam debuted in the top ten over the weekend in seventh spot with $1.9 million to show for its opening weekend. Meanwhile, the animated Sing 2 from Universal Pictures finished in eighth place with $1.6 million. This gives the family film a twelve-week total of $155.8 million. Again, falling two spots (as it did last weekend), was Jackass Forever which finished in ninth place with $1.1 million. The film now lays claim to a six-week total of $56.3 million. Finally, Scream again held onto the tenth spot with $445,000 over the weekend. This gives the Paramount Pictures release a nine-week tally of $80.9 million.
Again, two films were displaced from the box-office weekend top ten. Cyrano, which finished in eighth place last weekend, departs after bringing in $3.3 million in its first three weeks of release. Meanwhile, last week’s ninth-place finisher, Gangubai Kathawadi drops out of the top ten with a domestic total of $592,000.
