The Marvel Cinematic Universe again claimed the box-office weekend as Thor: Love and Thunder held onto the top spot, vanquishing the second-place film by $20 million.
Debuting in sixth place was the animated Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank which brought in $6.3 million during its first three days in release. This pushed last weekend’s sixth-place finisher, The Black Phone to seventh place as the horror film added $5.3 million over the weekend to lift its four-week tally to $72.0 million. Falling from fifth to eighth-place over the weekend was Jurassic World Dominion as it added $5.0 million in its sixth weekend of release. The film now sports a grand total of $359.7 million. The third debut of this weekend’s top ten, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris claimed the penultimate spot with a $1.9 million showing in its first weekend of release. Finally, last week’s seventh-place film, Lightyear finish in the tenth spot this weekend with $1.3 million. That film now lays claim to a five-week total of $115.5 million.
Three films took leave from the box-office top ten this weekend. After finishing in eighth place last weekend, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On did not make the final cut this weekend, but still has $1.7 million to show for its four weeks in release. Meanwhile, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also gave up its position in the top ten after amassing an eleven-week tally of $411.2 million. Finally, last weekend’s tenth-place film, Mr. Malcolm’s List, dropped from the top ten after putting together a three-week total of $1.8 million.
