Keanu Reeves and John Wick: Chapter 4 took out all competition as the film finished $63.1 million ahead of its nearest competitor in its first weekend of release.
Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania landed in sixth place with $2.4 million, dropping a spot from last weekend, but still sporting a six-week total of $209.9 million. Cocaine Bear fell a spot to finish in seventh-place with $2.1 million in its fifth week in release, giving it an overall total of $62.1 million. Jesus Revolution also slipped a spot to finish in eighth place with $2.0 million over the weekend. This gives the film a five-week total of $49.0 million. The comedy, Champions finished in ninth place with $1.5 million added to its three-week total to bring it to $13.6 million. Finally, in its fifteenth-week of release, Avatar: The Way of Water claimed the tenth spot of the box-office weekend with $1.4 million. This brings the film’s overall fifteen-week total to $680.4 million allowing it to pass Avengers: Infinity War to become the seventh highest-grossing domestic film of all time.
For the second week in a row, only one film was forced from the top ten as Puss in Boots: The Last Wish exited the weekend box office after amassing $184 million over the last fourteen weeks.
