Brie Larson Shines in the New Trailer for Room

Room

The new film Room, based on the best selling novel by Emma Donoghue and directed by Lenny Abrahamson, premiered to packed houses and standing ovations at the Telluride Film Festival earlier this month and will next screen Roomat the Toronto International Film Festival as a Special Presentation before being released in New York and Los Angeles on October 16th and nationwide on November 6th.

Both highly suspenseful and deeply emotional, Room is a unique and unexpectedly tender exploration of the boundless love between a mother and her child. After 5-year-old Jack (Jacob Tremblay) and his Ma (Brie Larson) escape from the enclosed surroundings that Jack has known his entire life, the boy makes a thrilling discovery: the outside world. As he experiences all the joy, excitement, and fear that this new adventure brings, he holds tight to the one thing that matters most of all – the bond with his loving and devoted Ma. The film also stars Joan Allen and William H. Macy.

After Short Term 12, I’ll see anything Brie Larson is in and this film is no exception. Room looks like a showcase for her and, if the trailers are any indication, for young Jacob Tremblay as well. If the early reviews are to be believed, director Abrahamson has deftly crafted a superb blend of thriller and emotional drama that is making this film one of must-sees of the fall season. Based on this trailer, I believe those reviews.
