CinemaLinks: The Making of David Lynch’s “Dune”

In the wake of the success of Denis Villeneuve’s sublime first installment of his adaptation of Dune, some might find it interesting to revisit the initial attempt at bringing Frank Herbert’s “unfilmable” novel to the screen. That is precisely what the folks over at /Film thought.

So, Max Evry set about exploring the topic by interviewing Daniel Griffith, the director of a relatively new documentary on the making of David Lynch’s version of Dune. The documentary, entitled The Sleeper Must Awaken: Making Dune, is now available on the Arrow streaming service. If you are a fan of the 1984 film, Villeneuve’s film, or of the book itself, you should take a look at Mr. Evry’s excellent interview with Mr. Griffith titled “The Sleeper Must Awaken Director Daniel Griffith On Arrow’s Dune ’84 Documentary” over at /Film.
