When certain films are released, mostly those of kid-centric variety, critics tend to forget that they’re not necessarily the film’s target audience. So, we here at CinemaNerdz decided we needed the critical viewpoint of a true member of the movie’s intended demographic. Thus, we turn the reins over to Miranda Clarke, age 9, as she shares with us her views on the new film “Monte Carlo.”
Grace (Selena Gomez), her friend Emma (Katie Cassidy), and her stepsister Meg (Leighton Meester) leave Texas to go to Paris because Grace has always wanted to go there. They get to Paris and it doesn’t go the way that Grace hoped it would. Then they figure out that a princess there looks just like Grace. Basically, this movie is about a girl who switches places with another girl without telling her. When Grace trades lives with Cordelia (also Selena Gomez) she gets to have a good time until Cordelia finds out.
Grace is a nice person. She doesn’t often get what she wants, but she still acts in a good way. She is funny, laid back, and a little serious, but not too serious. You should act like Grace because even though she makes a mistake or two (everyone makes mistakes though), she learns from those mistakes. Cordelia acts like a brat – mean and spoiled. She complains about not getting to do what she wants, even though she has a lot of stuff she doesn’t appreciate it. When Grace is Cordelia people notice that she isn’t exactly the same, but in a good way.
