In a weekend where not even a new release can break into the top ten at the box office (to be fair, The Identical remains universally reviled for all but the most diehard bad movie buffs), Guardians of the Galaxy took the top spot yet again with a mere estimated $10.2 million. With nothing else making over $10 million (even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made only an estimated $6.5 million), this weekend remains one of the weakest for some time, losing almost half the revenue from last weekend.
If I Stay remained in third with an estimated $5.8 million, while Let’s Be Cops remained close behind with an estimated $5.4 million. When the Game Stands Tall, The Giver, and The Hundred-Foot Journey remained closely placed with an estimated $3.7 million, $3.6 million, and $3.2 million.
The only real change is that big-budget, big-action star flop The Expendables 3 fell off the list while Lucy took the tenth-place spot, picking up an estimated $2 million and returning to the top ten list after falling out of it for three weeks.
