The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey held off the four new big releases by a substantial amount (though it dropped quite a bit of revenue since its less-than-expected opening). Jack Reacher did its best, but did not do much better than This is 40. Meanwhile, The Guilt Trip landed in a mediocre 6th behind Rise of the Guardians and the smash hit Lincoln, but the Seth Rogen comedy only did a little better than the 3D re-release of Monsters, Inc. Skyfall, Life of Pi, and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 all rounded out the bottom of the list.
With that said, ‘tis the season to relax! Movies here at CinemaNerdz are what we are all about, so take some time and stay warm with an old favorite (or a new one to make into a favorite).
