Two films again debuted among the box-office weekend top ten. This week, however, one of those film took the top spot by a markedly wide margin as The Batman eclipsed the second-place film by $117.5 million.
Holding firm in the sixth spot over the weekend was Sing 2 with $1.5 million. The animated family film now boasts an eleven-week total of $153.6 million for Universal Pictures. Falling two spots to finish in seventh place was Jackass Forever from Paramount Pictures. The film added $1.4 million over the weekend to give it a five-week total of $54.5 million. Climbing a spot to finish in eighth place over the weekend was the Peter Dinklage vehicle Cyrano with $684,000 over the weekend. The film now sports a two-week tally of $2.6 million for United Artists Releasing. Debuting in ninth place was the Indian film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The Paramount Pictures International release brought in $592,000 during its first weekend in release. Finally, Scream held onto the tenth spot with $570,000 over the weekend, raising the eight-week total for the Paramount Pictures release to $80.2 million.
Two films were chased from the box-office weekend top ten again this week. Last week’s seventh-place film, Marry Me departs with a four-week total of $21.4 million. The horror film Studio 666 dropped from eighth-place to vacate the top ten with a two-week total of $2.3 million.
