ABOUT THE FILM

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken in Clash of the Titans, Perseus (Sam Worthington) — the demigod son of Zeus (Liam Neeson) — is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Ralph Fiennes), and Poseidon (Danny Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalties and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

  1. I typically don’t care for sequels because all of the good ideas were used in the first film.  Having said that Hollywood has gotten better and there are several sequels recently that have been excellent.  Fast Five, Final Destination 5 the last Rambo movie just to name a few.

  4. Movie Sequels can sometimes be better than the first installment, however I have seen plenty of movies where this isn’t the case.   The second installment turns out to be something you could wait for it to come out and rent it at redbox.

  6. I love sequels. Sometimes the story is better than the previous, sometimes it’s not. Sequels are fun! There’s always a little more time in the story, especially when you are already familiar with the main characters.

  8. Sequels can be epic or can be a failure.  But there are many positives to having a sequel to a great movie!  But as an example, people say that Transformers was a fantastic movie.  Than Revenge of the Fallen came out and made tons of money at the box office, but did not please people as much as the first movie.  To redeem themselves, they then released Dark of the Moon and it was great.  Sequels can be a hit or miss, just depending on the director and cast of the movie.

I love to see a good movie then come back to see it continued to something even better than before.Even tho there has been some movies where a sequel is leave u like “why did u even repeat that?” lol but there are plenty good movies  that keep you wanting more.

  21. I only like movie sequels if the first movie was good. But then there is the sophomore jinx. Will it be as good as the first, will it extend the storyline making it even better? I would have to say Star Wars Saga, and Matrix trilogy are my favorite sequels

  22. I generally like sequels because they continue the story as long as it is compelling.  They have to keep your attention and wanting more…. The Wrath of the Titans looks great from the trailers.  Hope it delivers.

  23. I used to like movie sequels.  they used to be a planned contiunation of a thoughtout, larger story.  now they just seem to be straight money grabs for a Hollywood that has seemed to have run out of new ideas.

  27. I think sequels are Hollywood’s bread and butter now. They put a movie out and if it’s successful then look to make a sequel where it’s guaranteed that it will make money. Original movies are risky and only when studios run out of sequels do they invest in original movies.

You’d think that working from a successful formula would yield a good movie but whatever reasons it doesn’t always happen. Riami’s Spider-man 3 was a total mess for whatever reason and the Matrix sequels were horrible for some reasons as well. But both those movies made a lot of money.

  30. My experience with sequels is that the second one is very similar to the first movie, but the third in the series can be better because it will take a different direction.  I do like sequels if they go into what has happened to the characters since the original movie.

  32. Movie sequels are USUALLY (don’t go nerding out on me and give me examples of sequels that out shine their originals) not as good as their originals.  That being said, the ones that are should be commended.  It is hard to re-create bottled magic twice.  Characters and story are key componants of any GOOD movie franchise and if the characters and story continue with the same entertainment value as their original counter-parts, it is a MUCH better scenario.  Case in point…loved Ghostbusters but didn’t care as much for the sequel.  Not because too much had changed but rather the story was NOT as hilarious to me…12 story marshmellow man funny!  Scary-azz painting that wants to take over a baby…Freaky!

  34. It depends on the sequel. As much as I want to see more originality in Hollywood, there are a lot of stories that are so good ( just like books) that I look forward to seeing more of them. My favorite sequel in recent years was Toy Story 3.

  42. Sequels are good if done the right way. A lot of times some sequels just don’t measure up to the original movie..but we as movie goers don’t really mind because its a journey to another chapter or aspect to the movie. I love sequels but I will always love the ORIGNALS.

  43. well sequels are a way to carry the legacy of the movie forward . A sequel continues the story and gives it a new dimension and this marks a new franchise comming up. And clearly we can make out how good the original version should have been so as to be followed by a sequel forcing us to watch the original if we have not watched it before watchin the sequel. The trailer  of wrath of the titans look ausum,i bileve  the moie is gonna rock.

  44. From the preview I just saw, it looks like it’s going to be an action packed movie.  Sometimes sequels give you a little of the first movie and take on another whole new direction.  Sequel or not, I believe it’s going to be a good movie because I liked the first one.

  45. It’s very rare when a sequel carries more of a “punch” than the movie it’s based on. Most are just cash grabs, ways for the studio to bet the house on a less risky proposition. Those that aren’t, however, and are crafted by writers and directors that care about the material they’re writing, sometimes turn into something greater. The Dark Knight, for instance, or The Godfather 2.

  46. Well sequels… What can you say. You love some, hate others. Some you both love and hate. A great example is “Back to the Future 2?” I didn’t know that a 3 was made until the end which I HATE when they leave you hanging on or set up for the next one.
However. Some sequels that are made that are made because the people have fallen in love or spent a lot of money on the first one are OK because they end the story there without making us believe that there will be a sequel. Ghostbusters= great example of this…

I believe it was Alfred Hitchcock that said, you don’t have to always have a happy ending, just an ending that is satisfying . GOLDEN Words my friends… Who with me on this belief???
    I can’t wait to see this sequel… 🙂

  48. I think some movies should be left alone especially when the first movie didn’t leave anything else to explore, however if the first left you wanting more then a sequel could be be truly rewarding.

  49. It is inevitable.  Really. People want more. Even if the first was perfect we just want more. And Hollywood understands and gives.

Most of the time it kind of works out as an okay sequel. But there are way too many bad sequels.
However I would prefer 3 more Pirates of Caribbean sequels that are okay to the huge amount of remakes and reboots we see today. But I will admit… I will probably see anything Hollywood throws at me of poor quality as long as it is pop corn entertainment.

  50. I like movie sequels depending on how the movies prior to it were. For example, I was never big on the twlight series, so I basically didn’t see any of the films after the first one. But Wrath of the Titans looks awesome. I really liked Clash of the Titans (original) and the remake.

Important advice: sequels shouldn’t just be pooped out like Godfather 3.

  63. I suppose if the films are based on a novel that is done in sequels (such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Twlight, etc) then there is no way in which to avoid sequels if the complete story be told. However, I am not a big fan of films that attempt to re-create their interest merely by added a sequel.  In general, sequels are never as good as the first.

  67. Sequels are OK, only if they can match the Quality of the original movie. One BIG problem with popular/successful movies: is the threat of low budget sequels. Sequels have the power to really get movie fans’ blood boiling, because they are not as good as the original. If that happens, they will only crash and burn, and potentially tarnish the credibility of the film they tried so hard to follow 🙂
