For the third week in a row, Bad Boys for Life held onto the top spot of the box-office weekend. The comedy added another $17.7 million over this past weekend to lift its three-week total to $148.1 million. Once again, it easily outpaced the second-place film by $8 million.

Bad Boys for Life posterHolding onto second place for the second consecutive week was 1917, which added $9.7 million over the weekend, giving the film a six-week total of $119.2 million. Also sticking in the spot it held last weekend, was the comedy Dolittle, which brought in $7.7 million, giving the film a three-week total of $55.4 million.

The weekend’s first debut landed in fourth place as the horror film Gretel & Hansel took in $6.1 million, displacing last weekend’s fourth-place film The Gentlemen, which managed $6.0 million for its second weekend in release, giving the Guy Ritchie film a two-week tally of $20.4 million.

Dropping a spot to sixth this weekend was Jumanji: The Next Level, which added $6.0 million over the weekend, giving the sequel an eight-week total of $291.2 million. Holding its ground in the seventh spot of the box-office weekend was the latest Star Wars film, Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, which added $3.2 million to increase its seven-week total to $507.1 million.

Falling two spots, from sixth to eighth-place in only its second week of release, was the horror film The Turning, which made $3.1 million over the weekend and now claims a total of $11.7 million in its first two weeks in theaters. Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women dropped one spot to land in ninth place, but still added $3.0 million over the weekend, and now sports a six-week total of $98.8 million.

Finally, the Blake Lively-led action thriller The Rhythm Section debuted in the tenth spot of the weekend box-office earning $2.8 million. Two films left the top ten this weekend, they were the drama, Just Mercy, which took in $2.2 million after earning $30.8 million in its first six weeks of release. Meanwhile, Knives Out leaves the top ten after a long stay and earning a cumulative total of $155.6 million over its ten weeks in release.

Next weekend will see the return of Margot Robbie to the role of Harley Quinn in the sequel, of sorts, Birds of Prey.
