Box-Office Weekend: Freddy Doubles Up Taylor

Sticking around for another week on top of the box-office weekend was Five Nights at Freddy’s as it managed to hold onto first place by a margin of $5.9 million.

"Five Nights at Freddy's" posterIn its second weekend of release, Five Nights at Freddy’s pulled in $19.4 million to give the Universal Pictures International product an overall total of $113.6 million. Holding steady in second place was Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour with $13.5 million, giving it a four-week total of $166.0 million. Killers of the Flower Moon also stood firm in third place with $7.0 million added to bring the film’s three week total to $52.3 million for Paramount Pictures. Debuting in the top ten in fourth place was the A24 product Priscilla with $5.1 million in its second week of release, giving the film an overall total of $5.3 million. The second debut of the weekend, Radical from Pantelion Films landed in fifth place with $2.7 million.

Dropping a spot to land in sixth place this weekend was The Exorcist: Believer from Universal Pictures, which added $2.2 million in its fifth week of release to brings its total to $63.2 million. Meanwhile, the Angel Studios offering After Death fell three spots to land in seventh place this weekend with $2.0 million, giving the film a two-week tally of $9.0 million. Falling two spots to claim eighth-place this weekend was PAW Patrol: The Might Movie with $1.97 million, giving the Paramount Pictures product a six-week total of $62.0 million. Finally, falling three spots to claim the tenth spot of the weekend was Relativity Media’s Freelance with $1.2 million. This raises the film’s two-week total to $4.2 million.

Again, three films were displaced from the weekend box-office as, once again, the films in eighth, ninth, and tenth-place all dropped from this week’s list. After three weeks, the thirtieth anniversary re-release of The Nightmare Before Christmas departs with an additional $9.9 million added to the film’s previous revenue for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Meanwhile, Saw X has managed to bring in a total of $52.5 million during its six weeks in release for Lionsgate Films.
