A new film laid claim to the box-office weekend as "Mean Girls" bested "The Beekeeper" by $14.9 million to finish at number one over the holiday weekend.

Holding onto the top spot of the box-office weekend by $2.4 million, allowed "Wonka" to repeat as the big winner for a second consecutive week.
