Remembering Robin Williams: A Movie Trailer Retrospective

The remarkably talented Robin Williams was found dead in his home on Monday, August 12, 2014. His cause of death is believed to be an apparent suicide. According to reports, the actor had recently been battling depression and drug abuse. Of his passing, his wife Susan Schneider released the following statement: “It is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”

Robin WIlliamsWe here at CinemaNerdz couldn’t agree more. While some off his later work may have left some people nostalgic for his earlier output, there’s no denying that he had the ability to make people laugh. He even proved an incredibly gifted dramatic actor, garnering Oscar nominations for Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, and The Fisher King and winning a statue for his work in Good Will Hunting. While Williams will be remembered by most for his manic improvisational style of comedy, he was a far more complex and interesting actor and we will always remember him as such.

As a tribute to Mr. Williams, we present a selection of trailers showcasing some of our favorite films from his wide body of work. Rest in peace Mork.
