"Women Talking" features one of the year's best ensembles, under the smart direction of Sarah Polley, and ends up as one of the year's most powerful films.

Kenya Barris' "You People" gets laughs from Eddie Murphy, Julia-Louis Dreyfus, and Jonah Hill, but can't decide whether it's a preachy screed or sappy sitcom.

"The Son" is buoyed by an effective turn from Hugh Jackman as a father who, in echoing the failures of his own father, effectively dooms his own son as well.
