"Top Gun: Maverick" stood no chance against the debut of "Minions: The Rise of Gru" as the sequel beat it by $92.2 million to win the box-office weekend.
Despite some competition from "Lightyear", the Jurassic film, "Jurassic World Dominion" held onto the top spot of the box-office weekend by a mere $7.7 million.
It took a team of dinosaurs to dislodge Tom Cruise from the top of the box-office weekend, but "Jurassic World Dominion" did just that, by $93.4 million.
