The Mighty Thor was unseated by Jordan Peele's latest film, "Nope," which debuted atop the box-office weekend, besting the second-place film by almost double.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe held the box-office weekend as "Thor: Love and Thunder" held the top spot, vanquishing the second-place film by $20 million.

Though it proves wildly entertaining and engaging for most of its running time, Thor: Love and Thunder ends up a bit too light on the story side of the ledger.
