Box-Office Weekend: Beetlejuice Tripled

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice held onto the top spot of the box-office weekend by a mere $1.0 million to remain the top film for the third consecutive weekend.

"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" poster In its third weekend of release, Warner Bros.’ Beetlejuice Beetlejuice remained the top film of the box-office weekend, this weekend bringing in $26.0 million for the studio. This gives the film a three-week total of $226.8 million. In second place, Paramount Pictures saw Transformers One debut with $25.0 million mounting a substantial challenge to the dominance of Beetlejuice Beetljuice. This pushed Speak No Evil to third place this weekend where it added $5.9 million to bring its two-week total to $21.5 million for Universal Pictures. Meanwhile, Lionsgate Films saw Never Let Go debut in fourth place with $4.5 million. Deadpool & Wolverine dropped two spots to land in fifth place and add $3.9 million to raise its nine-week total to $627.3 million for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

The MUBI offering The Substance debuted in sixth place with $3.1 million. Meanwhile, SDG Releasing saw Am I Racist? fall three spots to claim seventh place this weekend where it added $2.5 million to lift its two-week total to $9.0 million for the studio. In its fourth week in release, Reagan took in $1.7 million to finish in eighth-place this weekend, after claiming fifth only seven days ago. Trafalgar Releasing enjoyed a debut of $1.4 million in ninth place for Jung Kook: I Am Still. Finally, in its sixth weekend in release, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures saw Alien: Romulus bring in $1.3 million, which was good enough to claim the final spot of the weekend box office top ten, despite the film dropping three spots from last weekend This gives the film a six-week total of $103.6 million.

Four films were forced from the box-office weekend top ten this weekend as the sixth- as well as eighth- thru tenth-place films all got bumped from this week’s list. After two weeks, Liongate Films has enjoyed a $4.8 million return on The Killer’s Game. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Releasing was the receiver of a seven-week tally of $146.8 million on It Ends with Use. Affirm Films saw their release of The Forge bring in $26.3 million over the last five weeks. Finally, the Fathom Events screening of God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust managed to bring in $1.9 million during its single week in the top ten.
