Last weekend’s top two films flip flopped to give GOAT the top spot of the box-office weekend by a margin of $2.8 million.
In its second weekend of release, the Sony Pictures Releasing product GOAT crept into first place with a $17.0 million take the last three days. This allowed the film to push last weekend’s top earner, Wuthering Heights, to second place where it brought in $14.2 million, giving the Warner Bros. release a two-week total of $60.0 million. Meanwhile, Lionsgate saw its I Can Only Imagine 2 debut in third place with $8.0 million over the weekend. This debut pushed Crime 101 down to fourth place this week, where it took in $5.8 million, giving the Amazon MGM Studios release a two-week total of $24.7 million. Similarly, Send Help dropped from fourth to fifth place this weekend as it brought in $4.5 million for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, lifting the film’s four-week total to $55.5 million.
Debuting in sixth place was A24’s How to Make a Killing with $3.6 million. Meanwhile, Neon saw its EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert debut in seventh place as it brought in $3.3 million for the studio. After a fifth-place finish last weekend, Angel’s Solo Mio fell to eighth this weekend where it brought in $2.6 million for the studio, lifting its three-week total to $21.8 million. Also dropping three spots this weekend, Zootopia 2 made $2.3 million with its ninth-place finish, giving the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures release a thirteen-week total of $423.9 million. Finally, in its tenth week of release, the 20th Century Studios release, Avatar: Fire and Ash fell two spots to claim the final spot of the box-office weekend top ten with $1.8 million, giving the film an overall total of $399.2 million.
Unlike the last few weeks, only three films failed to retain their position on the box-office weekend top ten over the last three days. After two weeks in release, the Briarcliff Entertainment release Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die couldn’t match its seventh-place finish last weekend and instead drops from the top ten after earning a total of $6.6 million for the studio. Meanwhile, the Markiplier release of Iron Lung took in a total of $37.9 million during its four weeks in release before dropping from the top ten after a ninth-place finish last weekend. Finally, in its third weekend of release, Vertical Entertainment’s Dracula falls from the top ten, having finish in tenth place last weekend, with a total of $11.5 million earned 3w Vertical Entertainment.
