Box-Office Weekend: OTHER MOMMY Takes Over

Again, a new release has claimed the top spot of the box-office weekend top ten as Other Mommy brought in $16 million more than second-place finisher Verity.

“Other Mommy” posterUniversal Pictures enjoyed a $27.5 million opening weekend for its Other Mommy as the film easily claimed the top spot of the box-office weekend top ten. Last weekend’s top film, Verity, found itself relegated to second place where it brought in $11.5 million for Amazon MGM Studios, giving the film a two-week tally of $53.9 million. Meanwhile, Resident Evil dropped to third place where it added $8.4 million to bring the Columbia Pictures product’s four-week total to $138.5 million. Paramount Pictures also saw its Heart of the Beast fall from third to fourth place where it added $7.1 million to bring the film’s three-week total to $49.7 million. Fifth place was claimed by the debut of The Social Reckoning which made $5.5 million for Sony Pictures Releasing.

Holding its ground a remaining in sixth place, Forgotten Island made $4.5 million over the weekend for DreamWorks as the film brought its three-week total to $30.3 million. Debuting in seventh place with $4.0 million was A24’s Primetime. Falling three spots from last weekend, Digger landed in eighth place where it brought in $3.2 million for Warner Bros., bringing the film’s two-week total to $14.4 million. The final debut of the weekend, The Angel and the Badman claimed ninth place with $2.1 million. Finally, creeping back into the top ten to claim the tenth spot of this weekend’s list, The Odyssey added $2.0 million to raise the film’s thirteen-week total to $623.1 million.

The bottom four finishers from last weekend failed to make the top ten this weekend. The 2026 re-release of Avengers: Endgame has brought in a total of $39.1 million for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures over the last three weeks, but it could not hold onto its spot in the box-office weekend top ten as it dropped from the list after a seventh-place finish a week ago. Meanwhile, Drishyam: The Conclusion enjoyed one week in the top ten as it brought in $2.7 million with its eighth-place finish before dropping off of this weekend’s list. With a total of $67.3 million to show for its five weeks in release, the Practical Magic 2 made some noise for Warner Bros. before falling out of the top ten this weekend. Finally, after finishing in tenth place a week ago, Spider-Man: Brand New Day fell out of the top ten bringing the Sony Pictures Releasing’s product eleven-week total to $956.9 million.
