After six weeks, a new film stand on top of the box-office weekend top ten, as Practical Magic 2 claimed the number one spot by a $21.6 million margin.
Over its first weekend in release, Practical Magic 2 took in $30.0 million for Warner Bros., which proved to be more than enough to claim the top spot of the box-office weekend top ten. This pushed last weekend’s top film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day from the top spot for the first time in six weeks to land in second place where the film made $8.4 million for Sony Pictures Releasing, bringing the film’s seven-week total to $935.2 million. Meanwhile, The Odyssey dropped a spot to third place where it added $7.4 million for Universal Pictures, lifting the film’s nine-week total to $600.5 million. With $6.4 million, Runner managed to make camp in fourth place over its debut weekend. Following a third-place finish last weekend, Ketchup Entertainment’s Coyote vs. ACME fell two spots to land in fifth place where it brought in $6.2 million, giving the film a three-week total of $47.8 million.
Sixth place was claimed by Buddy as the film climbed a spot to bring in $3.5 million for Roadside Attractions in the film’s third week of release, bringing the film’s overall total to $21.3 million. Falling two spots since last weekend, Insidious: Out of the Further brought in $3.4 million for Sony Pictures Releasing this week, which proved good enough to land in seventh place ass the film lifted its four-week total to $60.5 million. Meanwhile, Neon’s Hope debuted in eighth place with $3.3 million, giving the film an overall total of $5.0 million following a brief limited-release run. Focus Features enjoyed a modest $3.2 million debut for The Uprising a the ninth spot of this weekend’s top ten. Finally, following a fourth-place finish last weekend, By Any Means plummeted to tenth place this week where it brought in $3.5 million for Paramount Pictures, giving the film a two-week total of $13.5 million.
Four films fell from the top ten this weekend. After two weeks, the 2026 re-release of Cars has taken in a total of $10.4 million for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, but it fell from the top ten this week following a sixth-place finish seven days ago. Following an eighth-place finish last weekend, Paramount Pictures’ PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie could not hold onto a spot in the top ten an had to settle for a five-week total of $51.4 million instead. After five weeks in release, and a finish in ninth place last week, the Warner Bros. film The End of Oak Street brought in a total of $53.4 million for the studio. Finally, with a three week total of $14.8 million, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures’ The Dog Stars failed to repeat its tenth-place finish last week
