Box-Office Weekend: SPIDER-MAN Stays Alive for Five

For the fifth weekend in a row, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has held onto the top spot of the box-office weekend, clearing the hurdle this week by a $37.7 million margin.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” posterOver the course of its fifth weekend in release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day took in $22.2 million for Sony Pictures Releasing, holding onto the top spot of the box-office weekend while bringing the film’s overall total to $891.5 million. Meanwhile, Ketchup Entertainment’s Coyote vs. Acme debuted in second place where it brought in $15.5 million. Holding its ground in third was Universal Pictures’ The Odyssey with $14.3 million. That film now claims a seven-week total of $563.8 million. Following a second-place debut a week ago, Insidious: Out of the Further fell to fourth place where it took in $10.1 million for Sony Pictures Releasing, giving the film a two-week total of $43.6 million. In fifth place, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures enjoyed an $8.0 million debut for The Dog Stars.

Sixth place saw the debut of Roadside Attractions’ Buddy with $5.4 million. In its third weekend in release, The End of Oak Street dropped from fifth to seventh where it took in $5.1 million for Warner Bros., giving the film an overall total of $46.0 million. Following a fourth-place finish last weekend, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie dropped to eighth place where it made $4.9 million for Paramount Pictures International, lifting the film’s three-week total to $43.3 million. After claiming sixth place a week ago, Lionsgate’s Mutiny fell three spots to land in ninth place where it added $2.8 million to bring the film’s two-week total to $13.2 million. Finally, A24’s Tony also dropped three spots this weekend to finish in tenth place with $2.2 million, bringing the film’s four-week total to $11.1 million.

The three films at the bottom of last weekend’s top ten found themselves forced from this weekend’s list. After two weeks, the 2026 re-release of The Fast and the Furious has made Universal Pictures a total of $4.3 million before dropping from the top ten this weekend following an eighth-place finish a week ago. Meanwhile, Black Bear’s Spa Weekend departs the top ten with a two-week tally of $5.6 million after a ninth-place finish last weekend. Finally, with a four-week total of $5.4 million, MUBI’s Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma also falls out of the top ten after claiming the final spot a week ago.
