Box-Office Weekend: SPIDER-MAN Stays for Six

For a sixth consecutive weekend, Spider-Man: Brand New Day held the top spot of the box-office weekend top ten – by a margin of $6.2 million this week.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” posterSony Pictures Releasing enjoyed a sixth week with their Spider-Man: Brand New Day still at number one of the box-office weekend top ten. Over the elongated holiday weekend, the film brought in $23.5 million, raising its overall total to $923.3 million. Meanwhile, The Odyssey hopped over Coyote vs. Acme to retake second place with $17.3 million over the last four days. This brings the Universal Pictures product an eight-week total of $589.1 million. This shift resulted in Ketchup Entertainment’s Coyote vs. Acme claiming third place with $15.9 million while raising its two-week total to $38.4 million. Fourth place saw the debut of the Paramount Pictures product By Any Means which made $9.3 million over the weekend. That pushed Insidious: Out of the Further from fourth to fifth place where it made $8.1 million for Sony Pictures Releasing to bring the film’s three-week total to $55.7 million.

The 2026 re-release of Cars by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures landed in sixth place as the film brought in $7.8 million in its debut over the weekend. Meanwhile, Roadside Attractions’ Buddy found itself pushed down a spot to seventh place where it added $7.3 million in its second week of release to raise its total to $15.8 million. Holding steady in the eighth spot, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie added $4.5 million over the weekend to bring the four-week total of the film to $49.6 million for Paramount Pictures. Falling two spots to land in ninth place this weekend, the Warner Bros. release The End of Oak Street made $4.0 million over the holiday to lift its four-week total to $51.7 million. Finally, following a fifth-place finish a week ago, The Dog Stars found itself in tenth place this week, where it pulled in $3.5 million for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, giving the film a two-week total of $13.8 million.

Two films were pushed out of the top ten this weekend as last week’s ninth- and tenth-place films both missed this weekend’s list. After three weeks in release, Lionsgate’s Mutiny managed to bring in $15.5 million for the studio before departing the top ten. Meanwhile, Tony took in a total of $13.8 million over the last five weeks for A24 before bowing out of the top ten this weekend.
