For the second week in a row, The Batman eclipsed the box-office weekend by a vast amount. While there wasn’t a $117.5 million difference between the two top films this weekend, The Batman did hold onto first place by a margin of $56.7 million.
The Warner Bros. juggernaut added $66.0 over the weekend to lift its two-week total to $238.5 million. This places the film at 146 of the top domestic grosses of all time. Again, Uncharted came in second behind The Batman as the Sony Pictures Entertainment offering took in $9.3 million over the weekend to raise its four-week total to $113.4 million. Debuting in third place was the pay-per-view concert film BTS Permission to Dance on Stage—Seoul: Live Viewing with $6.8 million. Dropping a spot to fourth place this weekend Dog with $5.3 million. The Channing Tatum vehicle now sports a four-week total of $47.8 million. Also slipping one spot of the weekend was Spider-Man: No Way Home which still managed to add $4.1 million to boost its thirteen-week tally to $792.3 million as it creeps toward its next milestone.
Finishing in sixth place over the weekend was the 20th Century Fox film Death on the Nile with took in $2.5 million to boost its five-week total to $40.8 million. The Indian film Radhe Shyam debuted in the top ten over the weekend in seventh spot with $1.9 million to show for its opening weekend. Meanwhile, the animated Sing 2 from Universal Pictures finished in eighth place with $1.6 million. This gives the family film a twelve-week total of $155.8 million. Again, falling two spots (as it did last weekend), was Jackass Forever which finished in ninth place with $1.1 million. The film now lays claim to a six-week total of $56.3 million. Finally, Scream again held onto the tenth spot with $445,000 over the weekend. This gives the Paramount Pictures release a nine-week tally of $80.9 million.
Again, two films were displaced from the box-office weekend top ten. Cyrano, which finished in eighth place last weekend, departs after bringing in $3.3 million in its first three weeks of release. Meanwhile, last week’s ninth-place finisher, Gangubai Kathawadi drops out of the top ten with a domestic total of $592,000.
