Box-Office Weekend: Venom Threepeats

For the third consecutive week, Venom: The Last Dance held the top spot of the box-office weekend as it bested the second-place film by $5.1 million.

"Venom: The Last Dance" posterIn its third weekend of release, Venom: The Last Dance again finished in first place amidst the top ten of the weekend box office. The film brought in $16.2 million this weekend, bringing its overall total to $114.8 million for Sony Pictures Releasing. Meanwhile, Lionsgate saw The Best Christmas Pageant Ever debut in second place with $11.1 million over the weekend. The second debut of the weekend, A24’s Heretic, claimed third place just behind that with $11.0 million. Universal Pictures saw The Wild Robot drop two spots to a fourth-place finish this weekend where it added $6.7 million, giving it a seven-week total of $130.9 million. The Paramount Pictures product, Smile 2, dropped two spots to land in fifth place where it added $5.0 million in its fourth weekend of release to raise its overall total to $60.5 million for the studio.

The third film to fall two spaces in this weekend’s top ten, Conclave, finished in sixth place with $4.1 million after claiming fourth place last weekend. The film now has a three-week total of $21.5 million. The final debut of the weekend, Neon’s Anora, made its debut in the top ten in seventh place where it brought in $2.45 million, giving the film a four-week total of $7.2 million. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Releasing saw Here fall three spots to finish in eighth place this weekend with $2.42 million, giving it a two-week total of $9.5 million. Last weekend’s sixth-place film, A24’s We Live in Time fell to ninth place this weekend where it took in $2.2 million, bringing its five-week total to $21.8 million. Last, but not least, Cineverse saw Terrifier 3 fall three spots to finish in tenth place with $1.5 million this weekend, giving the film a five-week total of $53.3 million.

Three films fell from the top ten this weekend as the eighth- thru tenth-place finishers from last weekend all failed to make this weekend’s list. After amassing $2.23 million, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 ended its short stay in the top ten after one week. Similarly, with $2.19 million, Singham Again also made way for other films in the top ten this weekend. Finally, after bringing in $293.6 million over the last ten weeks, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice departs the top ten.
