Trailer Trashin’: A World Without Spider-Man?

Well, Thanksgiving is almost upon us and that means that the holiday movie season is about to kick off. While it may not be as plentiful as it has been in years past, we are going to see a few high profile properties return to theaters. One of those is everyone’s favorite web slinger. Spider-Man returns in his latest adventure Spider-Man: No Way Home this December and the official trailer has just been released. Let’s take a look!

Spider-Man: No Way Home posterPremise: For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and is no longer able to keep his normal life separate from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks Doctor Strange for help, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Our take: I am tempted to simply write “WOW!” here in huge bold letters over and over again. This film looks as though they have pulled out all the stops for a Spider-Man film. Seems as though every character from every incarnation may make an appearance of some sort here. (I particularly liked the under-the-radar (well, Sandman) appearance of the Lizard.)

Director Jon Watts has done a fantastic job with the new adventures of Spider-Man, having directed Spider-Man-Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019) and it looks as though this film will continue that trend, giving fans of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man something to be excited about. Also, it is always seriously disconcerting to hear Willem Dafoe in his Norman Osborn/Green Goblin voice

So, what do you think? Does this one look like a winner to you? Let us know in the comments section below!
