Trailer Trashin’: Solo: A Star Wars Story

INTRO: It’s been a long time since the Trailer Trashin’ column has appeared on CinemaNerdz. We apologize for the lengthy layoff. But, fear not, dear readers, we’re back with our weekly take on movie trailers as they’re released.

Solo: A Star Wars Story poster

Although it was released earlier this month, we would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the newest trailer for one of the more highly anticipated movies of this young year, Solo: A Star Wars Story.

SYNOPSIS: Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

OUR TAKE: As mentioned earlier, this is the second trailer for this film (the first debuted in early February), and while we’re excited about the film in general, we’re still a little nervous for the film given the less-than-favorable opinions of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) that graced the internet upon their release. Incidentally, we sort of liked both of those movies, so we’re looking forward to Solo: A Star Wars Story regardless.

EXCITEMENT LEVEL: We think the Force will be with this one.

Release Date: May 25, 2018

Starring: Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Paul Bettany
