Box-Office Weekend: “Wakanda Forever” Still #1


After four consecutive weeks atop the box-office weekend top ten, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever now sports an overall total of $393.7 million.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" posterAlthough its numbers have dropped, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever still held first place by $4.3 million as it finished with $17.6 million in its fourth weekend of release. This was enough to hold off newcomer Violent Night which debuted in second place with $13.3 million. Dopping one spot to finish in third was Strange World which added $4.9 million over the weekend to bring it two-week tally to $25.5 million. Climbing a spot to finish in fourth place, The Menu added $3.6 million over the weekend to lift its three-week total to $24.7 million. Flipping with The Menu and falling to fifth place was Devotion which brought in $2.8 million over the weekend to raise its two-week total to $13.8 million.

Debuting in sixth-place, I Heard the Bells made $1.8 million over the weekend, and an overall opening of $2.6 million in its first week in release. This pushed Black Adam to seventh place where it added $1.7 million this weekend to give it a seven-week total to $165.2 million. Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans fell a spot to finish in eighth-place with $1.3 million in its fourth week in release. The film now sports an overall total of $5.6 million. After cracking the top ten last weekend, Bones and All fell from eighth to ninth place with $1.2 million over the weekend. This gives the film a three-week total of $6.0 million. Finally, the Julia Roberts/George Clooney starring Ticket to Paradise took in $850,000 in its seventh weekend in release, managing to claim tenth place. The film now sports an overall total of $66.5 million.

Only two films were pushed out of the top ten as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery departed the top ten after finishing in third place last weekend and bringing in $13.3 million in its first week of release. After finishing in tenth place last weekend, Homecoming dropped from the top ten with an overall total of $14.4 million.
