ABOUT THE FILM

Chernobyl Diaries is an original story from Oren Peli, who first terrified audiences with his groundbreaking thriller, Paranormal Activity. The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme tour” guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone… (Warner Bros.) This film is rated R.

  5. I love the Resident Evil movies, probably mostly because of Milla Jovovich.
The best thing I love about zombie movies is how they explore those tiny nuggets of joy from depopulation – driving any car you want, taking whatever you want at the store, staying at Bill Murray’s house.

  6. One of my personal favorites is 28 weeks later. That is my favorite because it did the one thing most other zombie films can’t make you do, and that is to scare the living daylights out of you! It’s a very gory, suspense filled zombie movie with top notch actors and one amazing director. Most zombie films that are out, or that are coming out always fail to actually terrify you, 28 weeks later will put you on an emotional rollercoaster of fear throughout the entire film!

  12. Dawn of the Dead
My favorite zombie movie is the classic DAWN of the DEAD made in 1978 and directed by the “zombie master” George Romero.  The film did a good job showing a zombie epidemic; its effects on society and the mass hysteria zombies’ cause.

  15. Dawn of the Dead (1978) was a movie that my parents took me to see in the theater.  I believe that I was in the neighborhood of 10 years old at the time I saw it.  The best (or worst) part of it is that they took me to a midnight viewing and it was playing in a mall.  Wow take about scary.  It was well worth it.

  17. “Night of the Living Dead” is my all time favorite zombie movie.  I remember seeing this movie when it opened in October 1, 1968 and wondering if it was going to live up to all the hype.   George A. Romero directed this film, and it was one of the most terrifying films I had ever seen.  The movie was the first of its kind, and the graphic killings by the zombies just ran chills down my body.  I was so scared.  I was a sophmore in high school, so the movie freaked me out.  That film started my love of zombie movies on the big screen and on television. George A. Romero is one of the best horror film directors.

  19. I’m not huge into Zombie movies  because they usually don’t have a good back ground on why they were actually turn into zombies.  They just turn with no real explanation.  I’m excited about this one because it provides a real incident that explains why there are zombies in this situation.  History and zombies.  I like it and can’t wait to see it.

  20. “dance of the dead”, it took 10 years for this movie to get made. Its not just a slash and gash zombie flick. It’s really a movie entirely based on underdogs becoming heroes. The makeup is great, the comedy is perfectly on par. Who doesn’t love a story about the Nerds who save the day & get the girls?! It incorporates so much that we have already seen in traditional zombie movies, but it’s fun from start to end without being just a comedy. This movie is the whole enchilada plus a little postmortem love sprinkled on top.

One by one are killed during the night except one, a blackman who lives the night thru only to be killed by the posse mistaking him for a zomies.  WOW  What a great story.

  26. “Night of the Creeps”  Got alien slugs on the brain?  The corpses in
this crazy, freewheeling cult film are reanimated by extraterrestrial
mollusks who direct the zombies to, ironically, one of  the  places you’re LEAST LIKELY to find BRAINS, a sorority house. Absolutely loved this one!!!

  27. My favorite Zombie Movie is Return of the Living Dead from 1985.  It was my first viewing of a zombie movie and it hooked me.  It was recently releasaed on Blu-Ray and you know I got it ASAP.  I am a huge fan of the genre though.  Dawn of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Etc..Huge Huge Huge fan.  Even some of the low-bedget ones like “Zombies of mass Destruction”.  Hilarious and yet it worked.  Even Redneck Zombies worked an a small level because it was written so badly it was hilarious.

  29. I grew up near  a city that was literally contaminated with radium…really (search for “Radium City” for  a PBS documentary about the city). After seeing this video as a young adult, I often thought if any of my friends would become zombies from the radium. I can just see them now trying to knock down the door my high school, bypassing all the ‘great’ cafeteria food and going directly for a tasty classmate . Kind of like the 2008 non-blockbuster, “Zombie High School”.  The movie’s budget a mere $250.00…yes, that is two hundred fifty dollars. It never made it to to the  theaters, but if can be found on You Tube if you want to see a interesting amateur zombie movie.
