"Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" posterDespite bringing in $28.1 million over the course of its opening weekend, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom couldn’t have been more disappointing for Warner Bros. as it opened to less-than-positive reviews and seems destined to be the final nail in the coffin of the current iteration of DC Extended Cinematic Universe. Universal Pictures enjoyed a third-place debut for Migration where it made $12.3 million for the studio. Anyone But You debuted in fourth place, adding $6.2 million to thew coffers over at Columbia Pictures. Fifth place was claimed by Salaar which brought in $5.5 million in it first weekend of release.

Debuting in sixth place with $5.1 million was the A24 product The Iron Claw. Meanwhile, The Boy and the Heron fell from third to seventh where it added $3.154 million in its third week of release, bringing its total to $30.6 million for GKIDS. This was just enough to best The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes which brought in just $3.150 million, dropping it six spots to finish in eighth place. Still the film sports a six-week total of $149.3 million for Lionsgate Films. Falling five places to land in ninth was Godzilla Minus One with $2.7 million, giving the film a four-week tally of $40.4 million. Finally, after claiming ninth place last weekend, Poor Things fell to tenth place where it added $2.1 million for Searchlight Pictures, bringing its three-week total to $5.1 million.

This weekend saw a major shakeup as five films from last week’s list left the top ten. After six weeks, Trolls Band Together departs with an overall total of $93.0 million. Wish also failed to make the top ten this weekend, but does leave with a five-week tally of $57.5 million. Meanwhile, after five weeks in release, Napoleon vacates the box-office battleground $59.2 million richer.
